  • Guerilla Lighting in Madrid

    Am frühen Morgen des 12. Dezember hatte sich die Calle del Pez in Madrid verändert. Eine emphemere Installation von 26 Lampenschirmen verlieh der Strasse eine intime Atmosphäre. Die Aktion dauerte 7 Stunden, kostete 180 Euro und hatte keinen zusätzlichen Energieverbrauch. Mehr>

    In the early morning of December 12th the Calle del Pez in Madrid had changed. An emphemeral installation of 26 lampshades gave an intimate atmosphere to the street. The action lasted 7 hours, cost 180 euros and nedded no extra energy consumption. More>

Seit 10 Jahren organisiert Roger Tator dieses Micro-Festival zum Thema Lichtkunst.   • Frankfurt Skyline Decoration

    Frankfurt am Main. Nikolaus Nesslers Vorschlag, die Frankfurter Skyline zu dekorieren, war schon während der Luminale 08 zu sehen. In der Adventszeit sind seine Animationen in der Ausstellung bei Schweizer No.9 zu sehen. Eröffnung ist am 5.12.2008. Nähere Infos hier>

    Frankfurt/Main. Nikolaus Nessler’s proposal to decorate the Frankfurt Skyline was already to be seen during the Luminale 08. In the Pre-Christmas-Days his animations are to be seen in the exhibition at Schweizer No.9. Opening is on 5.12.2008. Infos here>

  • Turner Prize 2008 for Mark Leckey (Städelschule)

    Der britische Videokünstler Mark Leckey ist Gewinner des Turner-Preises 2008. Leckey ist seit 2005 Professor der Frankfurter Städelschule. Für seine Ausstellung ‚Industrial Light and Magic‘ erhielt er den angesehendsten britischen Preis für moderne Kunst, der nach dem britischen Landschaftsmaler William Turner (1775-1851) benannt ist. Turner gehört zu den Virtuosen der Lichtdarstellung. U.a. während seiner diversen Reisen auf dem Rhein entdeckte Turner die Magie des Lichtes.

    British videoartist Mark Leckey is the winner of the Turner Prize 2008. Since 2005 Leckey is professor of the Städelschule (Frankfurt). For his exhibition ‚Industrial Light and Magic‘ he received the most important British prize of modern art which is named after British scenary painter William Turner (1775-1851). Turner belongs to the virtuosi of the light painting. For example during his various trips on the Rhine he discovered the magic of the light.

  • Lyon: La Fête des Lumières 2008

    Seit 156 Jahren wird in Lyon ein Lichterfest begangen. Aus einer Dankes-Prozession ist La Fête des Lumières hervorgegangen. Heute ist es ein Ereignis des Stadtmarketing und der urbanistischen Entwicklung der Stadt. Seit 1989 hat Lyon einen Licht-Masterplan, dessen Realisation wesentlich dazu beitrug, das Image von Lyon in Frankreich zu verändern. La Fête des Lumières, Ausgabe 2008: LAB(au) aus Belgien, Ville Hyvönen, Yves Caizergues, Patrice Warrener, Matthieu Aufort und Anne-Lise King sind dabei. Ebenso die Galerie Roger Tator mit dem Superflux-Programm. Das Museum für zeitgenössische Kunst zeigt Arbeiten von Lori Hersberger.     For 156 years a light celebration is committed in Lyons. La Fête des Lumières has its roots in a catholic thanks procession. Today it is also an event of the city marketing and the urban development of the town. Since 1989 Lyons has a light master plan whose realization served substantially to change the image of Lyons in France. La Fête des Lumières, Edition 2008: LAB(au) from Belgium, Ville Hyvönen, Yves Caizergues, Patrice Warrener, Matthieu Aufort and Anne-Lise King are participants.
